Should I Work with a Buyer's Realtor?

 SHOULD I WORK WITH A BUYER'S REALTOR? A SELLER'S REALTOR?  … A DUAL REALTOR?

Texas real estate law requires Realtors to disclose who they represent.  Realtors may either represent the buyer, the seller, or both.   it should be made clear to the consumer from the beginning so that there is no misrepresentation.

 A “Seller’s” agent helps a seller sell a home.

 A “Buyer’s” agent helps a buyer purchase a home.

Sometimes, a Realtor will represent both the buyer and the seller in the same transaction.

IMPORTANTA buyer who elects this situation should receive full disclosure as to whom the Realtor represents and the options available to you

Keep in mind that real estate laws differ from state to state and even from locale to locale. In some states, dual agency affects the real estate professional's fiduciary responsibilities to the seller.  For more in-depth answers, talk with a licensed real estate agent  about local practices. Be sure you understand and are comfortable with the services of the realtor you engage.
